The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund is working with its partner ACT Alliance to support the fight against Ebola in Liberia and Sierra Leone.  If you wish to donate, please mark cheques "for EBOLA" There are two articles on the Peace & Justice bulletin board about the response (in the Hall).

Calling All Artists!!:  Advent ART Show - The Cathedral is hosting a display of art works during the season of Advent.  Members of the Cathedral family are invited to submit their own artistic creation on the themes of Waiting, Darkness/Light, Anticipation, Preparation, Proclamation, Angels,  - any of the advent themes, including the four Sunday candle words of Hope, Peace, Love and Joy, etc..
Submissions are to be "hang ready" and brought to the Cathedral by November 15, 2014.
Pieces can be titled, and/or have a brief artist note.
The Opening of the Show will be on Saturday November 22 in the Cathedral from 7 pm - 9 pm.  The Works will be on display in the Sanctuary through the season of Advent from November 23, 2014 to January 4, 2015.

APCI Book Cart – There are new books out on the APCI book cart (located near the washroom on the way to the hall). Check them out!








Friendship Friday - OCTOBER 17, 2014 at 10 a.m with guest speakers Joy Gothard talking about "food security", and Rae with “Out of the Cold" news. ALL WELCOME.





Saturday, October 18th – Corn Maze for youth grades 4+ - We’ll meet at the Cathedral at 4:45pm, organize ourselves into cars and then head out to the Tranquille Farms for the corn maze. After we’ve done the maze we’ll have a campfire with hot dogs and marshmallows and be back at the Cathedral for parent pick-up at 8pm. If you’d like to attend please email Melissa (stpaulscathedralyouth@gmail.com) or call/text (250-682-4866) by Wednesday, October 15th. We will need parent drivers for the event, drivers are welcome to join us at the corn maze – let Melissa know if you can help!   Cost: $10/per person.

Parish Update: October 1, 2014

Well, October seems to have snuck up on me! Here are a few goings on in October you might want to mark on your calendar.

Decorating for Thanksgiving – The Altar Guild will be decorating the Cathedral & Chapel for Thanksgiving on Saturday Oct 11th starting at 9 am.  We are looking for donations of Vegetables, Fruit & Flowers to use in decorating.  Please bring your donations to the church during office hours on Friday or bring them early on Saturday.  Anyone who would like to help with the decorating, please feel free to come and help.  Any fruit and vegetables left after the service will be donated to the Women’s Shelter.

Here is some important information that we will be going over on Sunday. It is time to review the fire drill plan.
Here it is
EVACUATE via the nearest safe exit (point to the 2 doors).  ASSIST persons requiring assistance.
CHILDREN IN SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will evacuate from the basement with their instructor and gather in front of the YMCA at 4th and Battle.  Parents will meet them there.

ALL OTHER ADULTS ASSEMBLE kitty corner from the church in front of The Windsor, 411 Nicola Street   PHONE 9-1-1 to report a fire in the building.
