Youth Ministry Trust Account
In years past donations have been received to the St. Paul’s Youth Ministry Trust account. The last donation was received in 2012 with a request that it be used towards sending youth from the Cathedral to the Canadian Lutheran and Anglican Youth Gathering (CLAY) in August of 2012. From those funds we fully supported four youthin attending CLAY in Saskatoon. The remainder of the funds then went towards supporting our young people in attending the following youth retreats, conferences and educational opportunities:
- British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement (BCYAYM) Fall Conference, October 2012 (fund and support 9 youth)
- February Winter Retreat @ Sorrento Centre, February 2013 (fund 15 youth)
- Young Sojourners’ Weekend @ Sorrento Centre, May 2013 (donation made for 13 youth and 2 leaders to attend)
- Support one young person in attending the Ask and Imagine leadership program in London Ontario, August 2013
The past donations have been well used and have made it possible for many of our young people to attend these important retreats, gatherings and leadership training opportunities without the cost being a burden on them and their families.
The Youth Group is now taking the initiative to secure funds for this account through the May Youth Group Fundraising Dinner. The funds raised for the Youth Ministry Trust Account will be used to support our young people and the youth leadership team (many of our youth leaders are volunteers who are currently in post-secondary school) in participating in leadership training opportunities, retreats and conferences(including the upcoming May Young Sojourners Weekend and CLAY 2014) outside of the events and activities that take place at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
We give thanks for your continued support of our young people at St. Paul’s Cathedral and invite you to join us at our May 11th Youth Group Fundraising Dinner.
